About Beat the Deck

Beat the Deck is a browser-based higher-or-lower card game built around quick decisions, risk, and survival. Players choose a pile, guess whether the next card will be higher or lower, and try to keep the game alive as long as possible.

The game includes Classic Mode for casual play and Ranked Mode for players who want a more competitive score chase with streaks, shields, swaps, ranks, and a public leaderboard.

Rules

How to Play

Classic Mode

Classic Mode uses one 52-card deck. Your goal is to clear the deck before all 9 piles close.

Pick one open pile.
Guess whether the next card will be higher or lower.
A correct guess clears one card and replaces the pile card.
A wrong guess closes that pile.
A tie or draw also closes the pile.
You get 3 Deck Peeks per game to view the remaining cards from highest to lowest for 5 seconds.

Ranked Mode

Ranked Mode is endless and score-based. There are no Deck Peeks, so every decision depends on risk and strategy.

Correct guesses give points based on the risk of the card.
Middle cards are worth more because guessing from them is harder.
Correct guesses build your streak and can increase your point rewards.
Every 5-streak earns 1 Shield, up to 3.
Every 10 correct guesses earns 1 Swap, up to 3.
The run ends when all 9 piles close.

Card Order

Cards go from 2 as the lowest card to Ace as the highest card: 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, J, Q, K, A.

Privacy

Privacy Policy

Beat the Deck may collect basic gameplay information that players choose to submit, such as leaderboard names, scores, ranks, cards survived, and game results.

Players should avoid using private or sensitive information as their leaderboard name. Leaderboard names are meant to be short public display names.

The game may use browser storage to remember local settings, tutorial progress, cosmetic unlocks, and gameplay preferences on your device.

Beat the Deck may use third-party services for features such as leaderboard storage, analytics, or advertising in the future. These services may use cookies or similar technologies to measure traffic, prevent abuse, or display ads.
